Why it’s here

Read the vel.gg/bo1z game guide ↓

Zombies brings a familiar survival format into a browser setup flow. Its separate mode, gun, and map choices give visitors a concrete way to begin. This guide records the live menu rather than assuming that older descriptions of the project still apply.

Who it fits

Desktop players exploring classic round-based zombie survival in a browser.

A task to try: Configure a first single-player Classic session

  1. Open vel.gg/bo1z and enter a display name.
  2. Choose Single Player and Classic guns, then select Choose Map.
  3. Leave Hell mode off for a first visit and choose a named map. Check its controls and loading messages before playing.

Where to be careful

Multiplayer and Counter-Strike options are visible, but lobby creation, connections, gameplay, saves, and device compatibility have not been tested. NavSprout is independent of the project and the original game publishers.

vel.gg/bo1z: Zombies browser game, maps & how to play

Looking for vel.gg/bo1z? Open Zombies to choose a mode, a gun set, and one of ten BO1 map entries. This English guide explains the current setup, classic survival concepts, beginner strategy, and what to check when a map will not load.

What we checked

NavSprout inspected the live Zombies setup and map selector at vel.gg/bo1z on October 14, 2026. We entered a display name and reached the ten-map menu with Single Player and Classic selected. Multiplayer, Counter-Strike, and Hell mode were visible options. We did not launch a map, create a lobby, test gameplay, or audit storage and security. Classic gameplay and map setting notes are background context, not a feature-by-feature test of this build.

What is vel.gg/bo1z?

Zombies is the title of the browser game at https://vel.gg/bo1z. The BO1Z address is associated with Black Ops 1 Zombies: a first-person, round-based survival experience built around fighting waves of undead enemies. If you searched for vel.gg/bo1z, this is the destination to open, rather than a similarly named directory or a different zombie game.

The current entry begins with GAME SETUP. It asks for a display name, a mode, and a gun set before revealing the map selector. That distinction matters: reaching the setup page is not the same as loading a map or completing a playable round.

NavSprout provides this independent English guide to the project. We do not host the game or represent Activision, Treyarch, or the operators of vel.gg. The original Black Ops background helps explain the map names and survival vocabulary; it does not establish official endorsement of this browser project.

How to start Zombies in your browser

  1. Open https://vel.gg/bo1z directly in its own browser tab. Begin at the setup screen so your mode and gun choices are explicit.
  2. Enter a display name. The visible field allows up to 16 letters, numbers, spaces, or the punctuation . _ ' ! -. Use a nickname you are comfortable showing to other players if you later try multiplayer.
  3. Choose SINGLE PLAYER for a first solo visit. The setup also offers MULTIPLAYER, described as creating a lobby and inviting friends.
  4. Choose CLASSIC for the original Black Ops gun option, or COUNTER-STRIKE for the option described as Counter-Strike 2 guns, recoil and movement.
  5. Press CHOOSE MAP. The next screen displays ten named map links and a Hell mode switch.
  6. Leave Hell mode disabled for a first attempt, select a map, and read the loading and control prompts on the destination. Allow game data to finish loading before judging performance.
  7. Once a scene becomes playable, check movement, aiming, interaction, audio, and the pause or mouse-release behavior before attempting a longer run.

Single Player, Multiplayer, and gun options

The inspected setup exposes two mode choices and two gun choices. Older descriptions that call the project solo-only do not describe the full current menu. However, a visible Multiplayer option does not prove that a lobby can be created, that joining works on every network, or that every map behaves the same online.

For an initial comparison, keep the map and mode fixed while changing only the gun set. This makes it easier to understand whether a difference comes from weapon handling or from learning a new layout. The Counter-Strike label describes an option inside this project; it does not mean you are launching a separate official Counter-Strike 2 client.

Which maps are listed at vel.gg/bo1z?

The map selector inspected on October 14, 2026 lists the following ten destinations. These are observed menu entries, not a claim that NavSprout has played every map or verified every original mechanic, quest, weapon, or Easter egg.

Use the names to orient yourself if you remember Black Ops Zombies. For a first visit, picking one map and learning its routes is more useful than switching repeatedly. The brief setting notes below describe the classic maps for context; implementation details in the browser build may differ.

How does round-based Zombies survival work?

The core idea is to survive successive waves while improving your position. In classic BO1 Zombies, fighting enemies generates points that can be spent on weapons and access to new areas. As pressure rises, navigation and resource decisions become as important as aiming. Your immediate goal is a survivable next round, while your longer goal is to push your personal round record.

Classic terms you may encounter include wall weapons, ammunition purchases, the Mystery Box, power switches, perks, and Pack-a-Punch. Wall weapons provide a predictable purchase; the Mystery Box introduces a random weapon choice. Power and perks shape progression, while Pack-a-Punch refers to weapon upgrading. Their availability and prerequisites depend on the map and on what the browser build implements.

Do not assume a strategy guide for the original release maps perfectly onto this project. First establish which interactions are actually present. If a familiar machine or door behaves differently, use the live prompts rather than repeatedly attempting an original-game sequence.

Beginner strategy: make each round more manageable

Learn the space before optimizing a score. Notice which doors connect rooms, where narrow passages begin, and which corners leave no exit. Keep moving with a purpose: a clear route lets you react to enemies ahead without backing into enemies behind.

Treat points as a survival budget. Before spending, ask whether you need ammunition, a more reliable weapon, or access to space. A stronger gun helps less if your only route is blocked. Keeping a reserve can prevent a promising run from ending because you cannot replenish a basic resource.

Reload during a safe gap rather than when enemies are already close. Check ammunition before committing to another fight. In the classic format, gathering enemies into a moving group is often called training, but trying it in an unfamiliar corridor can trap you. Learn a roomy route first.

Change one thing between attempts. Use the same map and gun set while you learn the layout, then experiment with a different setup. This turns each short run into useful feedback instead of making every failure hard to explain.

What is Hell mode?

The live map selector includes a Hell mode switch. Its visible description says: start on round 100 with up to 300 zombies at once and no perk machines. This is a description supplied by the project’s interface; NavSprout did not activate it or verify the resulting round.

For a newcomer, leave the switch off while learning the controls and map. A high-pressure starting state leaves little time to understand interaction prompts or recover from a loading or input problem. If you later experiment with Hell mode, expect a different starting challenge rather than a tutorial.

Browser, controls, and loading expectations

A desktop computer with a keyboard and mouse is the practical starting point for a first-person browser game. NavSprout has not established a minimum GPU, memory requirement, supported-browser matrix, mobile touch support, or controller compatibility for this build. Use an up-to-date desktop browser and read any requirements displayed by the selected map.

Browser-based does not mean zero data transfer. A game can avoid a separate desktop installer while still fetching substantial assets into browser memory or storage. A first load may therefore behave very differently from opening a text webpage. There is no measured loading-time or frame-rate guarantee in this guide.

Follow the controls shown in the current game rather than assuming a fixed key binding. If the scene asks you to click to begin, use the game’s prompt to give it focus. When the mouse appears captured, check the displayed release instructions; Escape commonly releases browser pointer capture, but the exact pause behavior should be confirmed in the live session.

Why is vel.gg/bo1z not loading or responding?

Distinguish setup, map loading, rendering, input, and networking failures. Each happens at a different stage, so the last working screen is useful evidence. If you report an issue to the project, include the browser version, selected map, mode, gun set, and the visible error text.

Check whether graphics acceleration is available in your browser if rendering is unusually slow, but do not disable browser security protections or install an unknown executable to make a web game work. Before clearing site storage, consider whether it may remove local preferences or progress; persistence has not been verified here.

Is Zombies free, official, or available on mobile?

No price or payment gate appeared in the inspected setup and map-selection screens. That observation is narrower than a promise of permanent free access: complete terms, future pricing, and all destinations have not been checked. There is also no verified requirement in this guide to own, import, or install a particular game copy.

Treat the browser project as separate from the official commercial Black Ops release. NavSprout has not verified a publisher authorization statement. We do not claim that this is an official Activision or Treyarch product, that it reproduces every feature of the original game, or that it will remain available indefinitely.

Mobile, controller, offline play, cloud saves, and progress synchronization remain untested. A page opening on a phone does not establish that aiming, input, memory use, or every map works there. Start on desktop and use the current project interface to evaluate other devices.
